Organic web designing: Think differently

Organic web designing has taken on in a big way with designers, where the natural approach and emphasis is given to their logos, packaging and their websites. The new organic approach is no longer on the lines of technological sheen used in the early 2000s, but has taken on graphics and elements of nature. The trend of organic designing is apparently here to stay as the focus is on green living and better environment. However, there are some basics about what makes organic web designs more appealing and what actually constitutes this trend.
What constitutes an organic web design?

The focus may be ecological to make a point but organic web designing is more on bringing the natural elements into the technological environ. These designs are abstract but capture the elements of nature and the ebb and flow, apparent in the woodsy grain, earthy textures and fabrics used. It is a broad concept which has been classified into four categories.

Hinting at organic elements

This lies in the use of fabrics, textures and material which comes from natural environment such as, burlap, paper and muslin to name a few. When these elements are used as layout, there is an appeal which is very natural in the whole design concept.

To mimic the flow of nature, the material, brushes, colors and shapes are used in a subtle way, giving an abstract hint of nature. The soft natural touch is used in websites which have the modern streamlined graphics, which adds to the whimsical hint at the organic.

Making up a sum total of the image

By playing upon the negative space or by adding a brush to it, there is a creation of a totally different image. When these parts are added up, you get to see one image which can be the brush, whereas when you look at the whole, you get to see the brush and the image which has been created.

Organic can be created

Anything that has been used and left abandoned out of the original organic element, such as old photographs, distressed wallpaper and even an old piece of wood or leaf are all organic. It is not necessary that organic has to come directly from nature but it can be created as well.

Recently organic web designing has taken on a new turn with designers using only what is essential without going overboard. They use only what they need to achieve the minimalist design for a more contemporary appeal. Thinking differently about organic web designs

When you are designing your organic website, you would naturally turn to earthy colors such as burnt orange, olive and deep gray-purples. These colors work well together without being overwhelming and create just the neutral tones for organic designing.

On the other hand, vibrant colors such as cobalt blue and red can be organic if used in a vintage image or given a distressed pattern. Used against a muted palette, these colors can bring in a refreshing hint of vibrancy.
In organic designing as in the natural element, balance plays a key role where the elements are concerned. You need to work on the balance of your design by touching on the gray hues to make them more colorful or calming a wood background with different layers.

You need not do away with your modern influences just because organic is a new trend. You can work upon your old chrome looking background or contemporary colors by softening some of its features to give a hint of the organic. When you think differently, you can conjure up more from nature than the usual and obvious elements. Choose items which are less common and do not confine your organic thoughts to the forest only, as even concrete walls and buildings can be given the organic twist.

There are many organic web designs which are available on the websites and they give good illustrations about the essentials of good designing. For those designers, these websites will be great inspirations to draw upon while creating your own.
